Louise Brooks / Parenting coach/ Parenting Success
I’m Louise, mum of two children, parenting coach and owner of Parenting Success
Originally from Denmark, I have spent most of my adult life abroad and now live with my family in Surrey, England. I am deeply passionate about relationships and have dedcated the past decade to studying and exploring ways that we as parents can deepen our relationships with ourselves and our children. And how we might begin to master the art of being a family without losing ourselves entirely in our role as parents.
Why? You might wonder.
Because I know that when we feel connected and good about our home life we are much better able to be productive at work, be a good friend and and colleague and our over all life satisfaction soars.
Although parenting is natural - it is far from easy. Parenting brings up feelings of guilt, doubt and inadequacy and it can be a lonely experience when all we have to compare ourselves to is the glossy images of social media that rarely leave usf feeling like a good enough parent.
In my work with parents - whether through 1:1 sessions (in person or virtually), webinars or corporate or school workshops I help to bring awareness to all of the stuff that we all experience - but rarely have fruitful conversations with other parents about:
- How might we lose it less - when we are triggered by our child's behaviour?
- How do we avoid tiresome power struggles with our strong-willed child?
- How can we support our children through an anxious fase or to best handle becoming a big sister or brother?
- And how can we begin to parent from the same values so that we don't end up fighting about how to deal with misbehaviours and discipline.
I support parents of children of all ages - and run webinars, workshops and parenting courses on a range of topics including:
- Saying no - without the guilt
- Raising siblings and managing conflict
- Boosting your child's self-esteem
- Pareting a strong-willed child and eliminating power struggles
Because I know that no parent every wants to yell to be heard or abuse their power by giving threats and ultimatums in order to be taken seriously, my courses will empower you with the tools and knowledge to no longer engage in tiresome power struggles to be heard and instead step into to role that invites mutual respect.
The role I call; The captain of the ship:
- Feeling more in charge
- Able to ground yourself so that auto pilot doesn't run the show
- And deeply connected to your children.
If you like the sound of that - be sure to check out some of my upcoming courses or visit my website for other ways to work with me.
I look forward to meeting youLouise
