Gathering for Connection, Expression and Change

More than 10 years ago Eventbrite was created to bring the world together through live experiences. Today, as we power millions of events across 180 countries every year, this core mission remains.

Our platform offers an open opportunity for anyone to gather for their chosen purpose — whether that be to explore passions, raise money, learn from others or protest. We may not agree with every view or opinion expressed at every event, but we strongly believe in the fundamental right to free speech and assembly. To help you understand what is acceptable on Eventbrite and what crosses the line, we created a set of Community Guidelines, which include:

  • Do

  • Create events of all kinds that bring your community together

  • Use respectful content that celebrates different cultures, countries and voices

  • Use self-generated or properly procured content including photos, videos, logos and copy in your event listing

  • Sell event-related merchandise in tandem with your event tickets

  • Express yourself and inspire our community with your unique perspective and insight.

  • Don't

  • Disrespect any individuals, organisations and groups that are a part of the Eventbrite community

  • Promote or encourage hate, violence or harassment towards individuals or groups

  • Include explicit content in your event listing

  • Defraud, or misrepresent yourself to consumers, resell tickets, or sell or raffle physical goods unrelated to an event

  • Use Eventbrite to collect private information including credit card or social security numbers

  • Use copyrighted or trademarked material without permission

  • Use Eventbrite to facilitate illegal or criminal activity of any kind

See the complete Community Guidelines here. We have and will continue to closely monitor and take action against users in which we recognise a tendency towards violating these Guidelines. Our community plays an essential role in helping to surface concerning content on the Eventbrite platform. If you come across anything that concerns you for any reason, we want to know.

Now more than ever, people are gathering for connection, expression and change. As both an organisation that cares about diversity of thought and a global platform that fosters a vibrant community, we are committed to providing a safe, well-lit environment for live experiences.

We developed our Community Guidelines to provide additional direction on acceptable and unacceptable content, in accordance with our Terms of Service.

How you can help

Follow these simple steps to report any concerning content you come across
on Eventbrite:

  • 1

Go to the event page that has the concerning content.

  • 2

Click on the “Report This Event” link in the footer of the event page.

  • 3

Select the most accurate reason that describes the concerning content. If none of the reasons apply, select “Other” and add additional details below. Choosing the most accurate reason ensures that your report is reviewed by the right team quickly.

  • 4

If you’re not logged in, fill in your email address so that we can contact you with any follow-up questions (optional).

  • 5

Fill in additional information about your report in the description field. The more details you’re able to provide, the better equipped our team is to assess the content and determine whether action is necessary (optional).

  • 6

    Submit your report.

We’ll review each report thoroughly. It’s important to remember that Eventbrite encourages a diverse, global community; content that you find offensive or controversial may not violate our Community Guidelines, and not result in your desired action. We truly value your feedback and the opportunity to hear from our community.
