Women Building Peace invites you to join us for Quilts and Collective Action, a cross-partisan gathering held in Nashville, Tennessee. This overnight event offers a unique form of creative advocacy.
As part of our Peace by Piece: Quilting for the Constitution campaign, we will focus on upholding the constitutional principles of due process, human dignity, the rule of law, and freedom of speech.
In this creative letter-writing campaign, participants will stitch constituents’ signatures into advocacy quilts, each with a message for our elected leaders. We will also write postcards that call on them to uphold the Constitution. The quilts and postcards will be delivered directly to Tennessee’s U.S. senators, representatives, and governor, urging them to uphold these essential constitutional freedoms. By turning quilting and postcard-writing into a form of civic engagement, we transform advocacy into a hands-on, human-centered act of solidarity.
Prepare to bathe your senses in the storytelling, flavors, music, and art alongside fellow Tennesseans in a peaceful resistance. This is more than just a creative event; it’s about building community and forming a coalition of women dedicated to protecting our constitution.
In partnership with We Choose Welcome of the National Immigration Forum, we invite you to join us in using creative advocacy to strengthen the fabric of our nation—one stitch and one postcard at a time.
