How to change who pays fees (pass on or absorb) in the new event creation experience

Updated by Devin W.

Eventbrite is free to use for free events! For events with paid tickets, attendees pay fees by default. However, as the event creator, you can choose to absorb fees into the ticket price and pay them yourself. To change who pays fees for your event, go to “Tickets” (in your manage event menu). Select the three-dot menu icon to the right of your ticket and choose "Edit". Leave "Include fees in ticket price" blank to pass on fees or tick the box to absorb fees.

5. Pass on fees or absorb fees.

• Pass on fees — By default, "Include fees in ticket price" is not selected. With this option, the attendee pays the fee(s) on top of the ticket price and the event creator receives the full price of each ticket. Click "View Details" to see fees and ticket revenue. • Absorb fees — Tick the box for "Include fees in ticket price". With this option, the attendee pays just the price of the ticket and the fee(s) are deducted from the base price you set. The event creator receives the price of each ticket minus the fee(s). Click "View Details" to see fees and ticket revenue.
