Singing Out - Toronto's Largest 2SLGBTQQIA+ Choir
PRIDE. MUSIC. BELONGING
We promote pride, both in who we are and in musical excellence, to the communities where we live, perform, and find mutual support. Within the choir, we shall foster a positive image of our common goals of belonging, unity, and empowerment: a reflection of our lives.
Singing Out is Toronto’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community choir. We are a mixed-voice, non-auditioned choir – a relative rarity in queer communities across North America. But Singing Out is much more than just a choir. Above all, Singing Out is a community. Our mission is PRIDE. MUSIC. BELONGING. We create a warm and welcoming space where everyone who enjoys singing and learning can find a place to belong and have fun. We welcome different levels of experience, as well as diverse backgrounds and identities. We sing together, and we sing out.
Musically, we cover everything from the sacred to the silly, in many different styles (pop, showtunes, classical, folk, jazz) and languages. We do not require an audition to join, although some “voicing” may be necessary to determine which section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone or Bass) best fits your vocal range, if you aren’t sure.
Singing Out is a registered charity. Our charitable number is 891550170RR0001. Click here to make a donation to support pride, music and belonging in our community.
