Situated in the vibrant economic center of Hong Kong, the U.S. Consulate General serves both the Hong Kong and Macau consular districts. The United States has had a consular presence in Hong Kong since 1843 and the current Consulate General has been at its location on Garden Road since the late 1950s. The Consulate General in Hong Kong includes Consular, Political, Economic, Public Affairs, Agriculture, and Foreign Commercial offices as well as representation from U.S. law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Consulate General serves the needs of the many U.S. visitors to and residents in Hong Kong and Macau and promotes the diplomatic goals of the United States government in the two Special Administrative Regions (SARs).
