Claudia Bush Yoga for Young People
I trained in the Baron Baptiste style with the Brooke Hamblet Teacher Training School at Blessed Yoga, The Cowshed in Sidlesham where I did most of my first few years of teaching as well as at the Hedonistic Health studio in Shopwyke. Next I trained in TeenYoga with the amazing Charlotta Martinus of the TeenYoga Foundation. I have taught various Young People/Adults (13-25) for the Young People's Shop Charity in Chichester including students from local Schools from Bognor to Chichester, youth clubs in Petworth and Chichester University, which is where my passion lies. I also taught teenyoga classes online during lockdown and have taught my own teenage son and some of his friends over the years.
My teaching of young people is in a relaxed and informal way which supports their mental health, creating a non-intimidating start to their practice of yoga. I am a member of YogaAlliance Professionals, have an advanced DBS Check certificate, First Aid, and have completed a Trauma-informed Yoga Course with FierceCalm. My own practice originates from the Baron Baptiste school of power yoga which is a vinyasa flow of power and breathing connecting mind and body in a moving meditation. It is powerful and grounding and I come away with a feeling of improved connection in the world and a sense of purpose and peace. I also love being outside in the elements and have a Paddleboard Yoga Teaching certificate and have been lucky enough to teach in Chichester Harbour, on the waters of Mallorca and the Thames in Maidenhead.
We learn so much on the mat (or board!) which can translate into our lives and improve our wellbeing and connection with others. Yoga also gives us tools to help reduce anxiety, and enhance focus in our lives, often offering moments of insight and clarity as we step out of our usual lives and onto the mat.
