Black Planning Project
Black Planning Project aims to amplify Black voices and perspectives in city and community building, planning, and development with the goal of reshaping planning practice and fostering more sustainable and resilient communities. BPP operates from the premise that planning’s complicity with the marginalization of Black communities – and the inequities planning still helps reproduce – cannot be disrupted unless Black communities’ lived experiences with planning are foregrounded, the knowledge and practices of Black planners are centred. BPP works towards more racially just planning outcomes for Black communities through a range of services and activities, including strategic advisory, research, training and education.
