Sophia A. Evans is the owner and Strategic Leadership Consultant at Apply It Consulting LLC, where she helps nonprofit and community-focused organizations strengthen their leadership, streamline operations, and achieve measurable results. Through customized training and professional development programs, she equips leaders and teams with the tools they need to be more effective and aligned with their organization’s mission.
Sophia’s professional background spans leadership, human resources, and higher education. She currently serves as Director of Administration at St. Stephen Baptist Church, Senior Human Resources Consultant with Insperity, Vice President of Human Resources/Chief Human Resource Officer, and Adjunct Business Professor at Barber-Scotia College. Over the years, she has also served as a Workforce Development Consultant, Adjunct Professor, and Site Director for multiple colleges, bringing her expertise to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses in business, leadership, operations, ethics, organizational behavior, and human resources management. She holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington Adventist University, a Generative AI certification, and professional certificates in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Leaders and for the Workplace from the University of South Florida. She is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity and a PhD in Leadership in Higher Education, with expected completion in 2028.
In addition to her professional work, Sophia is the founder of Esther’s Rise Network, a faith-based community dedicated to equipping and uplifting women. As a faith coach, she is passionate about empowering women in leadership, inspiring them to embrace faith over fear, and helping them step fully into their God-given purpose.
