Be The Change - Cultivating Kindness One Breath at a Time

Be The Change was founded by three experienced yoga teachers in Hong Kong - Annie, Doris and Holly - whose mission is to support charities in need and to build a kind, giving community through the offering of charity yoga classes. We became more active in 2020 when the global Covid-19 situation drastically impacted funding for charities, and we started offering #namastayathome virtual charity classes to raise funds for those in need. To date, we have fundraised for charities such as Habitat for Humanity, ImpactHK, Mother’s Choice, Feeding HK and many more.

Teacher Profiles

Annie shares her yoga practice through passionate teaching. Her approach is very therapeutic, prioritizing her clients’ holistic well-being through body awareness. She believes that a consistent practice on the mat can result to positive effects off the mat. Her endeavour is to guide her clients into their practice, so they can feel better - be it being more peaceful or calm, energized or focused. Doris is an international yoga teacher originally from New York City and now based in Hong Kong. The practice of yoga has dramatically changed her way of life and perspective of the world -- that is when she decided that yoga will not only be part of her practice but part of her every day life both on and off the mat. With strong desires to continue her self-discovery journey and a passion to share, Doris left her private equity job last year to solely dedicate her life to all things yoga and wellness. Holly fell in love with yoga as she found sanctuary on the mat while working in a demanding and stressful work environment. She became a full-time yoga teacher in 2014. She truly believes that anyone can practise yoga. It does not matter how flexible you are and how much of the physical poses you can do. It is about being aware of your every thought, word or action, and how it impacts yourself and others. After becoming a mother in 2018, Holly has been focusing her intention on elevating the well-being of families in HK.
