The Modern Agora

The Modern Agora project aims to reimagine the ancient Greek agoras - social institutions that contributed i.a. to the development of democracy, our current legal systems and philosophical progress while serving as the bedrock for social cohesion 2-3 thousand years ago.

We bring people together for a variety of purposes - from discussing philosophy and initiating local projects to connecting to ones neighbors and building communities. On the one hand, we work on the sense of loneliness and isolation that is experienced so widely these days. Also, in times where many people feel disempowered in their ability to make a difference in the world, we encourage all of us to think about their immediate environment and how to impact it meaningfully.
