Enable your M2 card reader as a payment method

In the Eventbrite Organizer app:

  1. Tap the menu button in the upper left.

  2. Select Device settings.

  3. Select Payment methods.

  4. Select M2 card reader.

  5. Select Done.

If the app needs permission to access your location, Bluetooth, and Local Network (iOS only) settings, it'll prompt you during this process. These permissions are required to connect the card reader.

Connect your device and check for updates

To connect your M2 card reader to your device:

  1. Go to Sell and create an order with paid ticket types.

  2. Select Checkout.

  3. Select M2 card reader.

  4. Locate your card reader and select Pair.

When you connect the device, the option to update the device may appear. If the option to Continue to pay appears, you can delay the update until a later time. Otherwise, the update is required before operating the device. It can take several minutes to update.

After you connect the device, you're ready to take payments. You can select the X button to cancel the in-progress order.

Take payments at your event

When you sell tickets at your event, select M2 card reader as the payment method.

Then tap, insert, or swipe the card following the instructions provided with your card reader. A confirmation screen will appear when the transaction is complete.

Manage multiple devices

If you have multiple M2 card readers, locate the serial numbers on the back of your card readers. You'll need them during setup and checkout. Visit Stripe's Help Center article if you need help finding your device's serial number .

Each M2 card reader can only be connected to one device at a time. When you set up your devices, use the serial numbers to ensure you connect to the correct card readers.

You can connect more than one M2 card reader to the same device. When you check out, you'll need to select which M2 card reader you want to take payment with, so make sure their serial numbers are easily accessible by your box office staff.
