X-Creativity Creative Friend MeshMinds event flyer

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10th: MeshMinds and Creative Friend Asia launch X-Creativity Meetup at ArtScience Museum;

On January 27th, Singapore will be host to the first symbiotic creative renaissance where creatives from traditional industries and artists utilising pioneering technologies of the future, will converge under one roof, thanks to MeshMinds and Creative Friends Asia;

Creative Friends Asia, a community of five thousand creatives from all industries with mission to enhance the standards for creatives in Asia, has been invited by MeshMinds to launch X-Creativity Meetup. The event is taking place during ‘ArtxTechforGood’, a showcase of immersive installations by artists and technologists at Art Science Museum, open daily from January 26th until February 2nd.

X-Creativity will start at 2.30pm ending around 5pm; the event includes two mind blowing presentations: one by the creator of the World’s first interactive Creative Talks using 7D holographic technology, Lazius Kaye, who is also the Founder of Creative Friends Asia; and a talk on the convergence of art and technology for global good by the Founder of MeshMinds - Kay Vasey;

Lazius Kaye will share never released footage from the behind the scenes of the making of the Hologram Talks which took place at VX Entertainment Studios in Beijing China in 2017 and whose principles helped to develop the Michael Jackson hologram during the 2014 Billboard Music Awards;

7D hologram is the equivalent of having a bunch of photographers surrounding a subject. The position of each photographer is described in 3D. The angle each photographer is pointing the camera is described in 2D. Each camera records light properties and time. The resulting parameters are: 3D position + 2D angle + time + light properties = 7D; the technical Term is also known as a 5D Plenoptic Function.

Kay Vasey will share inspirational insights about MeshMinds 1.0: ArtxTechforGood which is the result of four months of collaboration between more than 20 Singapore artists and technology experts as well as sharing what is next for MeshMinds 2.0.

In between presentations, guests can meet both the members from the Creative Friends Singapore community which includes musicians, filmmakers, photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, people in fashion, animation and other creative industries whilst, at the same time, having the chance to get up close and personal with the participating artists invited by MeshMinds to exhibit during the ArtxTechforGood festival.

The exhibitors range from fine art students at LASALLE right up to established artists who have showcased in galleries and museums around the world and have incorporated VR, AR, 3D printing, IoT and other technologies of the future into their work.

“X-Creativity Meetup is all about mixing the modern traditional with the future of creativity; as we gear towards the era of X-Reality; It is important to place Singapore on the map as a hotspot inspiring creatives to adapt and utilise the technologies of the future and, collaborating with Creative Friends Asia, made perfect sense for us to organise this meetup with them”, comments Kay Vasey;

“I am very excited because it is the very first time that we will be enabling creatives from traditional industries to connect, share ideas and, through the MeshMinds invitation, to have our community members gain a real chance to learn from creatives who were mentored by senior leaders from ArtScience Museum, Facebook and Autodesk and who are pioneering the future of creativity today,” comments founder Lazius Kaye;

During the family friendly event, guests will also be able to take advantage of the exhibits on display and register to gain potential representation through Creative Friends Asia and MeshMinds incubation programs enabling creatives to gain future exposure through current and new works.

X-Creativity Meetup is located at the Digital Playground in the Expression Gallery on 4th floor at ArtScience Museum and is limited to one hundreds guests;
