PODIUM presents: ‘World of Interiors’—Artist Talk with Min-Jia and Master Wang Tianwen

This artist talk, presented in collaboration with Podium Gallery, is a public program for ‘World of Interiors’—the debut solo exhibition of Urumqi-born, Berlin-based artist Min-Jia.

Min-Jia’s work is built upon an apprenticeship in Shaanxi Huaxian shadow puppetry under Master Wang Tianwen in Xi’an, China. By sampling and remixing traditional techniques, materials, and ornamental forms from across cultures, the artist creates enigmatic sites to investigate the interior life of the migrant.

The event will feature a dialogue between Min-Jia and Master Wang, exploring the history of Shaanxi Huaxian shadow puppetry and their shared personal journeys with the art form.
