About this Event

Mettā Nairobi will be hosting the 7th edition of the #WhatsGood series on 26th September from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.

The event will be a broad discussion on preventive medicine and integrative medicine cutting across nutrition, fitness, and mindfulness.

Topics set for discussion include:

1. Separating science from pseudoscience in nutrition.

2. Fitness as a preventive measure

3. Introduction to Mindfulness in Taijiquan (Tai Chi)

4. Tell-tale signs of chronic illnesses.

The panel on the day will include:

Stephanie Mwaura: an empathetic and passionate personal trainer and Fitness coach. She is a certified personal trainer in pre and post-natal fitness, strength training and fat-loss, swimming and aqua aerobics. She is also a trained public speaker who focuses on inspirational fitness and wellness conversations.

Shiv Simani: A professional Fitness Coach and owner of Shiv Simani Fitness, whose passion is to guide people towards a healthier lifestyle. His aim to transform your body and influence you to make more mindful decisions when it comes to your health. He is also a nutritional coach, content creator as well as a social media influencer

Shiru Macharia: A wellness coach and a certified culinary nutrition expert with honors from the Academy of Culinary Nutrition in Toronto. Her goal is to teach people how to create healthy lifestyle designs to achieve their health and weight goals. She does this through coaching on lifestyle habits changes and cultivating a healthier relationship with food. She also does cooking classes and workshops where she teaches how to shop, prepare and cook delicious healthy dishes. Shiru also does talks and seminars on healthy lifestyle.

Ameet Aggarwal: Dr. Ameet Aggarwal ND is a naturopathic doctor and psychotherapist (www.drameet.com) and is the author of the bestselling book Heal Your Body, Cure Your Mind - An integrated approach to health and emotional wellbeing. He combines diet, nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, gestalt psychotherapy, EMDR, family constellations therapy and Bowen therapy to help treat the root cause of chronic health and mental issues.

Linda Ye: Linda is a corporate lawyer who turned her passion in ashtanga yoga, insight meditation and Taijiquan martial arts into a full-time wellness occupation. She runs the Chen Style Taijiquan martial arts school, which is the Nairobi branch of the Chenjiagou Tiancai Taiji Academy located at the birthplace of Tai chi in Chenjiagou, Henan in China. Her taijiquan lineage stems directly from the source.
