About this event

Gan ddilyn ôl-traed Nansi Richards ‘Telynores Maldwyn’, mae Robin Huw Bowen yn hyrwyddo’r Delyn Deires fel gwir eicon cenedlaethol Cymreig.

Yn ystod gyrfa o dros ddeugain mlynedd, mae wedi cyflwyno’r offeryn unigryw Gymreig hon a cherddoriaeth draddodiadol ddilys Cymru i filoedd led-led y byd.

Gyda sail gadarn ddyblyg ei ymchwil hir yn y maes, ynghyd â thechneg ddilys a ddysgodd gan ffynonellau byw, mae Robin yn cynrychioli gwir enaid traddodiad gwerin Cymru, ac yn rhoi mynegiant byw i gerddoriaeth Gymreig o’r newydd.

Mae canu ysbrydoledig Robin yn sicrhau ei fod yn ailgynnau gwir enaid y gerddoriaeth a'i chyfleu i'r gwrandawyr fel peth byw. Mae’n dod â gwir sain a natur y traddodiad Cymreig i’w gynulleidfa, gan adlewyrchu aestheteg hŷn efallai, ond lawn mor fyw a lliwgar ag y buodd erioed.

Mae ei ddylanwad ar y byd Gwerin Cymreig ac ar hanes y Delyn yng Nghymru yn un eang a phwysig. Yn ddiau, fe saif ymysg y ffigurau pwysicaf i godi o draddodiad Gwerin Cymru, ac nid yw’n syndod felly ei fod yn cael ei gydnabod fel prif Delynor Teires Cymreig heddiw.

Following in the footsteps of Nansi Richards ‘Telynores Maldwyn’, Robin Huw Bowen champions the Welsh Triple Harp as a true national icon of Wales.

During a career spanning over forty years, he has introduced this uniquely Welsh instrument and the authentic traditional music of Wales to thousands all over the world.

Drawing on his own long research, and using authentic techniques learned from living sources, Robin represents the very soul of the Welsh musical tradition, and gives new vital expression to the music of Wales.

His inspired playing rekindles the very soul of the music and delivers it as a living entity to his listeners. The audience is presented with the true sound and nature of Welsh tradition, reflecting perhaps an earlier aesthetic, but as vibrant and as colourful as it ever was.

Robin’s influence on the world of Welsh folk music and harping has been far-reaching. He undoubtedly ranks among the most important figures that the Welsh folk tradition has produced, and it is no surprise therefore that he is recognized as today’s leading exponent of the Welsh Triple Harp and its music.
