「那裡十二間舖,起碼有八間是印刷舖。」──光華印務任師傅憶述昔日永利街。然而印刷舖的身影並不止於此,曾經的中環街頭巷尾,幾乎都能聽見印刷機的運轉聲。如今城市重建,一幢幢新樓宇拔地而起。曾經以老店林立、新舊交融聞名的中上環,還剩下多少舊日痕跡?這次城市文化導賞將由印刷業角度出發,從 1840 年代開始細說中環。我們將追溯中文鉛活字的誕生和發展,並一同尋找區內碩果僅存的印業痕跡,探索印刷師傅當年的行走路線,重構印刷舖成行成市的景象。
