Urban Impression with Objects: Printmaking Workshop

Urban Impression with Objects: Printmaking Workshop

Overview

Join artist Olgierd for an experimental workshop where your everyday items become your artwork tools!

Whether it’s the old toys, tools, or other objects you find around your city, this workshop is all about discovering the artistic potential in the world around you through printing unique textures!

What You’ll Do

  • Pull unique impressions and prints from 3D objects.
  • Experiment with surfaces
  • Make it personal: turn your favorite urban objects into wearable or displayable art!

The workshop will be 1.5 hours. No prior printing or artistic experience required—just be willing to get your hands dirty!

Medium of instruction will be in English.

We’ll provide materials, but we highly encourage you to bring your own objects to use to print, as well as any a tote bag, a T-shirt, or any fabric item you’d like to customize with your own urban impressions.

About the Artist

Olgierd Nitka aka Aktin Dreiglo, is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and architect. Born in 1980s Poland and shaped by Berlin’s street art movement, he founded his Hong Kong studio 16 years ago. Holding a PhD from the University of Hong Kong, his research-driven approach explores the intersection of art, design, and socio-political discourse, enriching his work with conceptual depth and material experimentation.

His practice merges techniques of reproduction—such as photography, stencil, and stamping—with classical painting. Through these mediums, he explores the relationship between society and its environment, encompassing humans, non-human actors, landscapes, and urban spaces. A recurring theme in his work is the question of what remains after a human life—the traces, the memory, and the continuous transformation of what is left behind.
