UNHEARD sound and music festival: Sound and the city - An examination
Date and time
Sound and the city - An examination of music and sound design amongst the traffic and noise of the urban environment
About this event
Through film, dialogue and his own works with HK band Blood , Wine or Honey, Joseph Von Hess examines the role urban sounds and those specific to HK play in the creative process.
Joseph discusses his artistic responses as a musician, producer and performer to the common experience of the urban; revealing connections, influences and inspirations, illustrated with examples of sound in cinema and popular music that speak to modernity, traffic, space, urbanisation and our reactions to the phenomenal rise of the City as a place where over half of all human beings now live.
