"Like a painter uses paint to communicate concepts and emotions, user experience designers use technology to help people accomplish their goals. But the primary objective is to help people, not to make great technology." This course will teach you to create and communicate solutions to help your customers solve their problems and meet their goals. You will learn UX best practices and the tools available to help you implement an optimal user experience for your customers. This course is appropriate for designers, developers, marketers and just about anyone who wants to build a more competitive business.

Mikaal Abdulla is the co-founder and CEO of 8 Securities, Asia's first socially networked trading portal with offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo. 8 Securities was recently selected as finalist at TechCrunch Disrupt in Beijing, a top 5 startup in Asia by Amazon Web Services and one of "7 Chinese Startups to put on the radar in 2012" by Inc. 8 Securities has closed $12MM USD in funding. Prior to launching his company, Mikaal ran international marketing for E*TRADE, a global S&P 500 company, across 15 geographies. Mikaal's international experience includes launching and managing successful businesses and products across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, India and the United States. Mikaal holds an M.B.A from both Columbia University and the London Business School. He writes about startups, digital marketing and UX for several Asia technology blogs and is a mentor at Chinaccelerator and Startups HK.
