Overview

Tree protection involves activities designed to preserve and protect tree health by avoiding damage to tree roots, trunk, or crown. In today's site development, planning prior to site disturbance should include identifying tree protection plan.

In the seminar, the speaker will cover the following topics:

  • Definition of a tree: A plant is considered as a tree if its trunk diameter measures 95mm or more at a height of 1.3m.

Mr Koo Siu Fung Stone 


Mr. Koo is a Registered Landscape Architect practicing in Hong Kong & China. He taught landscape architecture for HKUSPACE in 2003, and has been an Associate Professor of Architecture Department, Chu Hai College of Higher Education from 2015. He won his first landscape design award in 1996 and many awards followed: UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation 2017, HKIA Annual Award 2017-2018 for Blue House Cluster; Green Hub won Honorable Mention Award of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation 2016, Grand Award of Green Building Award 2016 among others, Merit Award HKILA Design Awards 2016. In 2015 Jao Tsung I Academy won Good Design Award 2015 Japan, HKIA Special Architectural Award Heritage and Adaptive Re-use 2015
