The YMCA Bread Run - June 28, 2016

Feeding Hong Kong is a local registered charity dedicated to redistributing surplus food from companies to other charities. The FHK Bread Run engages individual and groups of volunteers in the nightly collection of surplus fresh bread. Simply select one or more stores to visit at closing time, collect the surplus bread and then deliver them to an FHK drop-off point. All Bread Run donations are redistributed same night or next morning to local charities providing food to those in need in HK.

HOW CAN I BECOME A BREAD RUNNER?

<LI>Select one or more stores that you can visit at closing time. We recommend partnering up with a friend and registering for a minimum of 2-3 stores </LI>
<LI>Click the Register button at the bottom of page and enter your contact details</LI>
<LI>1 day before the Bread Run we will email your collection tickets. These act as your volunteer ID and include the store address, telephone number and pick-up time</LI>

ON THE BREAD RUN NIGHT
<UL>
<LI>Call your stores 1 hour before closing time to confirm they have surplus to collect</LI>
<LI>Arrive at each store at closing time. Bring your own carrier bags to help further reduce waste!</LI>
<LI>Print out your PDF ticket and show to the store staff</LI>
<LI>Collect the donation receipt (except Pret A Manger), double check the number of pieces and sign to confirm receipt</LI>
<LI>Pack the donated surplus breads into your carrier bags</LI>
<LI>Bring the bread and receipt to an FHK drop-off point</LI>

<LI>Where is the drop off point? The FHK Foodbank at Unit 715-717, Block A2, Yau Tong Industrial City, 17-25 Ko Fai Road, Yau Tong</LI>
<LI>When will I receive my collection ticket? Tickets will be emailed 1 day before the Bread Run</LI>
<LI>What if I have a problem on the night? If you are running late, please ensure you call the store directly. If you are unable to make the pick-up or have any problems in the store, please call the FHK Hotline on 2205 6568.</LI>
<LI>What if the store informs me there is no bread to collect? Please note that all donations are subject to availability on the night. If there is no donation to collect, please thank the store for their time and call the FHK Hotline on 2205 6568 to inform our team.</LI>
<LI>What is the arrangement under typhoons and rainstorms? 5PM on the day of Bread Run: If No.1-3 Storm Signal or Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted or in force, Bread Run will continue as usual; if No.8 Storm Signal (or above) or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted or in force, Bread Run will be CANCELLED. During Bread Run: If No.1-3 Storm Signal or Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted or in force, Bread Run will continue as usual; if No.8 Storm Signal (or above) or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted or in force, Bread Run will be CANCELLED.</LI>
