Emma Dorrell, ESF Director of Language & Learning

After gaining a psychology master’s degree, English language teaching certificate and Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the UK, Emma moved to Hong Kong in 2004 and joined ESL in 2005. As Director, Emma enjoys working with her team to offer engaging learning opportunities for students throughout Hong Kong. Whilst striving to maintain ESF Language & Learning as a leading provider for after-school classes, Emma ensures the programmes remain relevant and of the highest quality.

Fiona Hughes, ESF Language & Learning Centre Manager

Fiona began her career in Dublin, Ireland as a Montessori Teacher after university. She has been teaching for over 19 years in Early Years, including 10 years in Beijing’s international schools. She believes in working closely with each family to help children develop a love for learning in a peaceful, multi-cultural environment.

This workshop will provide you with information about the importance of play in the development of every child. Emma and Fiona will talk you through how a play based curriculum is used in school and how the children benefit. They will also provide examples of what to do at home to support play based learning.
