The Jungle Project - Saturday Sessions

A special collaboration of wellness and creativity. In these immersive sessions, you’ll stretch out your bodies, relax your minds and discover how raw materials — clay, sand, straw, and fibres — can be shaped into expressive surfaces that merge art, architecture, and wellbeing.

SATURDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

YOGA AND EARTH ADOBE WORKSHOP

10:00 AM - 4.30PM

We’ll begin the morning with a gentle yoga practice led by the wonderful Ray. After class, settle in with a calming cup of tea before exploring the world of earth building with Alex, Ania and Jenny.

We’ll teach you how to excavate and test the soil beneath our feet, and how to use it in a suitable wall to make adobe bricks - A practice thousands of years old and working in harmony with nature.

You’ll have the chance to dance barefoot in the clay — a natural massage for your feet and a nourishing treatment for your skin — which uses our bodies to mix together earth, sand and straw before learning how to craft earth bricks.

At midday, we’ll come together for a communal vegetarian lunch, then flow into our afternoon workshop. This is an opportunity to learn hands on skills rare in Hong Kong and to reconnect to the materials all around us.

SATURDAY 8TH NOVEMBER

YOGA AND EARTH PLASTERING ART WORKSHOP

10:00 AM - 4.30PM

We’ll begin the morning with a gentle yoga practice led by the wonderful Ray and Gwen, followed by a calming cup of tea.

You’ll then be introduced to the practice of earth plaster — that not only brings beauty, but also helps regulate humidity, balance temperature, and soften sound, creating a serene and harmonious living environment. You’ll learn about different natural pigments and how to add them to the plasters to give colours and textures to your walls or canvas.

In the morning session, we’ll work together on a communal wall art piece as part of our live project, giving you the chance to learn techniques hands-on. Unlike many conventional paints, it contains no synthetic chemicals, VOCs or plastics - meaning a healthier indoor air

qaulity.

At midday, we’ll pause for a nourishing vegetarian lunch before moving into the afternoon, where you’ll create your own earth art canvas to take home — a personal piece that carries both creativity and a sense of calm. This hands-on experience combines creativity, wellnessand sustainable design.

What makes this workshop special:

  • Hands-on techniques — learn how to prepare earth for sculpting, create depth with layering, and use natural tools and fibres to form texture and pattern
  • Collaborative process — work as part of a creative team to design and build a shared wall artwork, leaving your mark on a real project
  • Art + architecture crossover — gain insight into how decorative reliefs and surface treatments are integrated into natural buildings around the world
  • Wellness through making — experience the grounding, meditative qualities of working with earth — the cool, pliable textures and slow rhythm of hand-shaping are known to reduce stress and foster mindfulness
  • Sustainability in practice — explore how earth art isn’t just creative, but also climate-friendly: using local, low-impact, regenerative materials that connect us to place

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a new set of artistic techniques, a richer understanding of natural materials, and the joy of having co-created something bigger than yourself. This is as much about the experience and connection as it is about the final result.
