About this event
For two years in a row, the Community Chest’s Walk for Millions had to be held virtually due to COVID-19. The New Territories Walk for Millions 2023/24, scheduled for Sunday, 19 November 2023, will be held at the Tsing Ma Bridge, Tsing Yi and Ma Wan. . This represents the return of in-person Walk for Millions for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. Members of the public can set foot on the Tsing Ma Bridge, which is the first marine viaduct in Hong Kong with a carriageway, cycle track and footpath, and raise funds for Family and Child Welfare Services supported by the Chest.
100% of the funds raised through the Walk programme this year will be designated to support 24 member agencies in providing “Family and Child Welfare Services” to maintain and strengthen family bonding, to encourage mutual support relationship among family members; to help them prevent and cope with individual or family problems; as well as to provide services for their unmet needs. Please enrol now and help make a difference to the lives of those in need.
Route: The walk starts direction of Tsing Yi Island, Kwai Tsing district and end of direction of Ma Wan, Tsuen Wan District on Tsing Ma Bridge. The main span of the bridge is 1377 meters long, and the total length of the approach road is 2160 meters, and it normally takes around 45 minutes to complete.
Remarks: Participants must arrive at the Start Point at the assigned time slot stipulated on the Walk Pass. Participants have to abide by the prevailing anti-pandemic measures.
Our Role
The Chest acts as a trustee of the donors so that 100% of all donations are put to the best use according to a stringent and transparent allocation and monitoring system. The Chest also acts as a gatekeeper as the vetting and admission of new member agencies is carried out according to a rigorous and transparent process. In addition, the Chest is dedicated to building a caring society by fostering a culture of giving.
