Join us for an insightful and interactive training session dedicated to mastering the art of error correction and providing constructive feedback in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom. This session will equip educators with evidence-based strategies to enhance student learning and confidence through effective error correction and feedback.

Participants will:

  • Understand the Types of Errors: Explore different types of language errors, including grammatical, lexical, and phonological, and learn how to identify them in student work.
  • Discover Correction Techniques: Examine a variety of correction methods, such as self-correction, peer correction, and teacher-led correction, and understand when to apply each method for maximum impact.
  • Implement Feedback Strategies: Learn how to provide feedback that is specific, actionable, and supportive, helping students to understand their mistakes and improve their language skills.
  • Balance Correction and Encouragement: Develop skills to maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment while addressing errors, ensuring that students remain motivated and engaged.
  • Adapt to Individual Needs: Gain insights into tailoring error correction and feedback approaches to meet the diverse needs and proficiency levels of students.

For the best experience, attendees should have:

  • a computer or ipad style device (a phone will also work)
  • stable internet access
  • a headset with microphone
  • a webcam

Attendees will also receive a certificate of attendance which includes the number of teaching hours.

Trainer: Alexandra Rubenstein

Alex has approximately 13 years experience working in the EFL industry in Mainland China, where she has held a variety of positions in teaching and education management. Before joining English for Asia, Alex was a Regional Education Manager at Education First where she oversaw the teaching department across 6 adult training schools in Guangzhou. During this time, she was involved in several national projects related to teacher development and performance management. Alex holds a Trinity Certificate in Tesol and is a candidate for the Trinity Diploma in Tesol. She currently works as an online course tutor.
