Teaching Skills: Reflective Practice for EFL Teacher Development

Join us for a hands-on training session on reflective practice that gives educators practical tools and fresh insight for their professional growth. This session focuses on how reflective practice can be a cornerstone for continuous improvement and growth in the EFL classroom.

Participants will:

• Discover Reflective Practice Fundamentals: Learn about the key principles of reflective practice and its importance in the professional development of EFL teachers.
• Implement Reflective Techniques: Explore a variety of reflective methods, such as self-reflection, peer observations, and student feedback, to identify strengths and areas for growth.
• Develop Reflective Routines: Establish a structured approach to regular reflection, incorporating strategies like keeping a teaching journal and setting reflective goals.
• Collaborative Reflection: Engage in collaborative activities with colleagues to share experiences, provide mutual support, and gain new insights.
• Utilise Reflective Tools and Resources: Gain access to digital tools, templates, and resources that facilitate effective reflection and documentation of teaching practices.
• Apply Reflection to Practice: Learn how to translate reflective insights into actionable changes in the classroom, improving teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.

Many EFL teachers juggle packed schedules and rarely find time for structured reflection, missing opportunities to refine their practice - this workshop equips you with simple tools to make it a habit.

• a computer or ipad style device (a phone will also work)

• stable internet access

• a headset with microphone

• a webcam

Attendees will also receive a certificate of attendance which includes the number of teaching hours.

Trainer: Alexandra Rubenstein

Alex has approximately 13 years experience working in the EFL industry in Mainland China, where she has held a variety of positions in teaching and education management. Before joining English for Asia, Alex was a Regional Education Manager at Education First where she oversaw the teaching department across 6 adult training schools in Guangzhou. During this time, she was involved in several national projects related to teacher development and performance management. Alex holds a Trinity Certificate in Tesol and is a candidate for the Trinity Diploma in Tesol. She currently works as an online course tutor.
