Description

Francesco Lomagistro - drum

Camillo Pace - bass

Pietro Vincenti - piano

T-RIOT, a rock-solid trio session with a top-shelf Italian groove pedigree: the group features two members from Berardi Jazz Connection - drummer Francesco Lomagistro, bassist Camillo Pace - and pianist Pietro Vincenti from QUINTETTO X. All three musicians are in a straighter jazz vein, yet still one that's filled with plenty of rhythm! The piano, bass and drums come together fantastically here, romping together through some great titles of their own and a few really excellent remakes as well. T-Riot sound is full of energy with great Vincenti's solo moments on piano.

Drummer/Percussionist/ Educator Francesco Lomagistro, began piano studies at age of 11 and later switched to drums. He received his music education through private lessons and attendance at seminars by great musical masters. He received his Degree in ‘Percussion Instruments’ at the Niccolo Piccinni Music Conservatory in Bari (Italy) and the Degree in “Didactis for Musical Instrument”. In 1992 he participated in the Berklee Clinics at Umbria Jazz. He teaches “Drums and Percussions” in the public schools and is a member of Vic Firth Educational Team since 2005 (he is an author for drum lessons on the Vic Firth website). Thanks to his versatility, Francesco has been played in different musical ambients together with many famous artists such as Edoardo Bennato, Rotem Sivam, Kay F. Jackson, Joice Youlle, Kelly Joyce, Sandra St. Victor, Wendy Lewis, among others.
He has been playing in different venues such as theatres, clubs and festivals in Europe and the United States. He leads the group Berardi Jazz Connection, a European jazz project.

Born in Taranto in 1978, Camillo Pace graduated in double bass at the Conservatory N. Rota of Monopoli and in jazz musical disciplines with specialization in musicology at the N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari. He studied Ethnomusicology at the University of Lecce with the professors Maurizio Agamennone and Gianfranco Salvatore. He has conducted classical studies with world-renowned musicians such as Franco Petracchi, Michele Cellaro, Giuseppe Ettorre, Armando Trovajoli and Biagio Putignani; in the jazz field with famous artists such as Giuseppe Bassi, Ares Tavolazzi, Erik Reed, Winton Marsalis and Rodney Whitaker. He has an intense concert activity in the classical field with chamber and orchestra ensembles directed by prestigious conductors and with internationally renowned classical soloists. He was voted in the referendum Musica Top Jazz 2009 in the category "best new talent" and "instrumentalists of the year" section Contrabass. In 2010 he was awarded at the XIX edition of the International Cultural Award "King Manfredi" city of Manfredonia for jazz music.

Born in 1970 in Ostuni (Apulia, Italy), Pietro Vincenti started playing piano at the age of 13 as autodidact. At the age of 17, he moved to Milan to attend the last two years of the five-years piano jazz advanced course with Franco D’Aandrea at C.P.M. (Centro Professione Musica) and to study Philosophy at Milan State University. Later he started working at C.P.M. as Piano Accompanist and Teacher in the Jazz Vocal Courses with Tiziana Ghiglioni.
In 1993 he was called in the band “QUINTETTO X” as keyboardist, composer and arranger: QUINTETTO X became the leading band of the worldwide notable musical cultural association and movement “FEZ”, led by Nicola Conte, so turning the best “black” sounds (Jazz, Funk, Brazilian) of ’60 and ’70 into new, powerful, joyful and “live” dance tunes.
After several years of intense gigs activity in Italy and Europe, he came back to Puglia, played with a lot of local musicians, experimenting “live” different sounds and musical directions, performing hundreds of gigs, playing Jazz, Blues, Pop, Reggae, Soul and R&B, Electronica, Progressive etc. More recently he started working on his personal projects, focusing on all different kinds of sounds he met and he loved throughout the years with his very personal touch.
