Sustainable Beer Tasting Workshop

The Hong Kong craft beer and pub industry have been booming in recent years, with many new local brands and bars. Small, local and traditional – several of the attributes associated with craft beer go hand in hand with sustainability. However, some craft brews are more sustainable than others. In this tasting, we will be introducing BREER, a new brand of local craft beer made from upcycled loaves collected from bakery chains and supermarkets in Hong Kong, which would not only help alleviate food waste, but slash the cost of beer-making too.

Encompass HK is also passionate about promoting the Sustainable Development Goals and through this event we will also discuss the most overlooked SDG in Hong Kong which is SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.

近年，香港精釀啤酒的業務發展蓬勃。在這次品酒會上，我們將介紹一個本地精釀啤酒新品牌——BREER，他們採用由本地商店剩餘的麵包升級再造釀酒，減少食物浪費，符合可持續發展的原則。Encompass HK 一直致力宣傳可持續發展目標，其中「負責任消費與生產」最需被關注，故此Encompass HK希望透過是次品酒會加深大家對可持續的釀酒技術的認識。
