Students are faced with a variety of demands, including academic, social, and personal ones. It can be a challenge to balance them all.
Developing study skills and effective habits early on is fundamental to being successful and keeping a healthy life balance during busy times. These sessions aim to offer strategies and resources to learn effectively and manage stress. The skills learned in this class will be helpful now, and in years to come.
Topics that will be covered in the course include:
- Time management, planning, prioritising
- Breaking down large projects into small steps
- Note-taking and consolidation, memory aids, study skills
- Staying motivated, avoiding procrastination
- Managing stress, the importance of taking breaks
This course is open to ages 11-13 year olds.
About the teacher: Katrina Rozga is Director of Therapy and Counselling at the Jadis Blurton Family Development Center and teaches health education, Adolescent Psychology and Abnormal Psychology at The Harbour School. Katrina is passionate about helping kids, teens and adults of all ages to live their happiest and healthiest life.
