A triumphant story of a NFL star becoming a Yoga teacher.
‘My yoga practice happened a year or so after the accident. After I gained mobility, every step I took, I felt pain. I was refusing to take the medication. I had to do something – and I found yoga’ -Keith Mitchell.
Join us on November 17th at The Yoga Room to get to know Keith Mitchell and to hear how yoga and meditation saved his life after being paralyzed in the NFL.
Keith Mitchell was a linebacker in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars, and was named to the Pro Bowl. Keith Mitchell was forced to retire early from professional football after suffering a spinal injury that left him temporarily paralyzed and unable to remain in the NFL. He then took an alternate form of physical activity: Yoga. He found the practices of yoga and meditation opened his mind, body, and soul to a new life. Today, he is committed to sharing the transformative power of yoga and the message that true liberation and self-fulfillment comes from the inside. Through his Light It Up charity foundation, he shares his passion with a wide audience, including yogi’s, athletes, veterans, multicultural youth and anyone who wishes to live a life of liberation, joy, and inspiration. Keith has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show, ESPN and NFL and in magazines such as Ebony, Om Times, Mantra Magazine, Huffington Post, and many more.
