Special Talk: Decoding PROVOKE 專題講座：拆解PROVOKE 

香港國際攝影節(HKIPF)是兩年一度的攝影展覽，致力於推廣香港攝影藝術文化。Hong Kong International Photo Festival (HKIPF) is a biennial photography exhibition dedicated to promoting photographic art and culture in Hong Kong.

Accompanying the first PROVOKE exhibition ever to be held in Asia, this special talk by IIZAWA Kotaro, author of innumerable books on Japanese photography and the founder and driving editorial force behind the 1990s photography quarterly déjà-vu, will focus on the historical context of PROVOKE magazine. In this illustrated talk, he will discuss how photographers NAKAHIRA Takuma, TAKANASHI Yutaka, and MORIYAMA Daido, art critic TAKI Koji, and poet OKADA Takahiko ran this magazine in the turbulent 1960s and how the PROVOKE movement transformed post-war Japanese photography and ways in which it continues to activate thought throughout Asia today.
《PROVOKE》誕生於日本社會運動最熾烈的1960年代，其銳利且具有顛覆性的攝影觀念及攝影風格，即使僅發行兩年，已奠定了其在日本攝影的創作理論與實踐上的地位。然而由於刊物絕版經年，加上主要創辦人中平卓馬後期對其《PROVOKE》時期的創作全面否定，以致日本以外的世界，要了解《PROVOKE》的意義與影響有一定困難。
飯澤耕太郎在日本當代攝影評論上論著豐碩，曾擔任日本90年代攝影季刊《déjà-vu》創辦人和總編輯。伴隨《PROVOKE》專題在香港首展，飯澤在本次講座中將剖析《PROVOKE》的歷史背景，聚焦五位靈魂人物，包括共同策劃雜誌的攝影家中平卓馬、高梨豐及森山大道，藝術評論家多本浩二及詩人岡田隆彦五人，討論過去50年《PROVOKE》激發的反叛精神和全新的造像方式，探索其對日本以及亞洲地區攝影藝術發展影響至今的原因。
