REEL TO REEL INSTITUTE 首項出版《電影的起源》是一本中英對照的故事書，簡介電影發明史和技術演進，解構早期彩色電影和現場配樂帶來的獨特觀影經驗——默片時期有七成電影都是彩色？「默片」從來都不是無聲？分享會以書本內容及插畫為基礎，同時放映幾部16毫米菲林短片，加上現場配樂，讓觀眾感受菲林放映的魅力。

The Origins of Cinema, the very first publication of Reel to Reel Institute, is a storybook written in Cantonese with English translation, introduces the origins and technological development of the cinema. By illustrating early colour techniques and unique cinema viewing experience accompanied by live sounds, the book intends to change the boring impression of ‘silent’ films.

Based on the content and exquisite illustrations of the book, some 16mm short films will also be shown with live music accompaniment in the sharing sessions. Let’s experience the charm of film projection!
