Encompass HK supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) , as part of our promotion of heritage conservation and SDG 11 goal Sustainable Cities, we will be screening a locally-produced movie Dot 2 Dot which is a touching love letter to Hong Kong and illustrates how urban development has changed the city. We have invited the director Amos Why to join our post-screening discussion.

Dot 2 Dot (Cantonese 點對點 Dim dui dim) is a 2014 Hong Kong feature film directed by Amos Why, starring Moses Chan Ho, Meng Tingyi, Susan Shaw Yin-yin, and Lam Tze-chung, first screened at the Hong Kong International Film Festival 2014. It is a Hong Kong film about a Chinese woman who moves to Hong Kong as a Mandarin teacher, and on her initial walks around the city, discovers a series of mysterious patterns on the walls of stations, so she decides to find out what they’re all about. It is an absorbing drama about two people with a knowledge and appreciation of Hong Kong’s local geography and cultural heritage, including the dot-to-dot puzzles that appeared in magazines such as Children’s Paradise, it shows that such knowledge and love is not limited to those who were born, and have spent all their lives, in the city.

As part of our initiatives, part of the proceeds of the screening will go to the Community Heritage Fund that supports protection of Hong Kong’s heritage and conservation including the State Theatre.

故事簡介

從多倫多回流的雪聰(陳豪 飾)，多年來在香港不同的角落畫下神秘圖案，一直都未被任何人發現。直到最近，從長春南下當普通話老師的小雪(蒙亭宜 飾)偶然之下發現並成功破解，連起所有這些沒有數字的點點圖，一幅又一幅與從前的香港息息相關的圖案、回憶活現於這個繁忙的城市。但究竟是誰留下這些圖案？又會是誰把它連起呢？二人決定要在這個開埠170多年兼住了700多萬人的城市，展開一場猜情尋遊戲……
