After healing from wounds and trauma, the warmth of home can be rediscovered.

Founded in the post-pandemic era, Hurtling Butoh Dance Theatre aims to gather strength and cleanse the soul through dance amidst a chaotic and absurd world. It introduces butoh, a form of dance that conveys the possibility of light and infinite imagination even after darkness and distortion. In recent years, the group’s artistic director, Vinci Mok, has devoted herself to promoting butoh in special education, intergenerational programs and inclusive communities. One of her projects, "Aunties Butoh," is a training program developed with seniors and homemakers approaching silver age.

In this live performance, Mok’s solo dance will intertwine with the group performance of "grannies" dancing gracefully under the shadows of metaphorical trees. The event will also feature sound healing performances and sacred chanting, which are inspired by the vision of her teachers, Don Conreaux, to resonate the world with the therapeutic frequencies of the gong theater, as well as the mission of Hans de Back to spread love through the sound waves of singing bowls.
