This tour will take you to see some of Sai Kung's outlying islands.
We start off at Yim Tin Tsai, a culturally unique island, for half an hour walk. Learn about their history, the influence of catholisism and the importance of salt making on this island. Take a look at the salt pans, where sea salt is produced using age old methods.
Then we sail along Kau Sai Chau to Jin Island, to see the magnificent sea arch there. The rocks here consist of the famous hexagonal columns. In the meantime, learn about the geology of the area and how it all came to be.
From Jin Island we sail back towards Sharp Island. We make a short stop near the Elephant Nose Rock to see the sea caves, then continue to Kiu Tsui pier to walk around that part of the island, and see the peculiar pineapple bun rocks and the tombolo (natural land bridge), which is a part of the Hong Kong Geopark.
Finally we finish the tour at Sai Kung pier.
Meeting point: 10:45-11:00 at the entrance to Sai Kung New Pier, nrs. 7, 8, 9, 10.
