Event Overview

RICS Matrics Committee is delighted to offer this special opportunity for young professionals to visit the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal (KTCT) under the “Infrastructure and new developments in Hong Kong” series. This Matrics technical visit to KTCT provides young professionals in the built environment a first-hand experience and understanding as to why this unique structure is iconic and important to Hong Kong. Our speaker will present a brief outline to KCTC’s unique design and special features, together with challenges faced during and post construction.

*The technical visit will route through restricted areas of the KTCT and temporary visitor permits are mandatory. Participants are required to provide full names (per HKID) and HKID card numbers (letter and first four digits) for permit application. All personal information will be treated with strict confidentiality. Routing may change according to actual site conditions on the date of the visit.

About the host

Standing at the southern tip of the former Kai Tak airport runway, Kai Tak Cruise Terminal (KTCT) is an iconic structure located in Kowloon East along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour skyline. The structure is designed to accommodate the world’s largest cruise vessels and features highly functional and efficient terminal and passenger clearance facilities. KTCT is also able to host events for conventions, exhibitions and even fashion shows. This important tourism infrastructure has been awarded a Provisional BEAM Plus Platinum rating.

With a belief in the ability to shape the future, RICS Matrics Committee was established to balance the interests and needs of young professionals entering the profession as well as those who have just commenced a career in the surveying profession. The Committee is youthful, forward thinking, challenging, nurturing, vibrant. It is this approach that enables its members to grow and become an integral part of the wider RICS. As such RICS Matrics is the lifeblood of the surveying profession.
