About this event

Are you interested in the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and its application in weather and climate predictions? Join us for the Croucher Advanced Study Institute (ASI), where world-leading atmospheric scientists and AI experts will unite to propel the field forward.

Introduction

The field of artificial intelligence (AI) has been developing rapidly in recent years, and its application in weather and climate predictions has become a focal point. To propel the field forward, Prof. Hui Su as the chair of the organizing committee, organizes the “Croucher Advanced Study Institute (ASI) — Revolutionizing Weather Forecast and Climate Prediction Through Artificial Intelligence” together with members of the organizing committee, Prof. Eun Soon Im, Prof. George Zhizhao Liu, Prof. Lin Liu, Prof. Xiaomeng Li, Prof. Xiaoming Shi, and Prof. Chengxing Zhai. The ASI unites world-leading atmospheric scientists and AI experts to jointly explore the cutting-edge applications of AI models in weather forecasting and climate prediction. The ASI will pioneer the inter-comparison of multiple AI models, emphasizing the effective combination of physics-based numerical models and data-driven AI models. By doing so, we aim to contribute to more accurate and reliable atmospheric predictions, ultimately revolutionizing the way we understand and forecast atmospheric phenomena.
