The Real Estate Investment and Valuation During Market Downturn course presents an opportunity for the participants to gain comprehensive insights into the dynamics and multiple options of investment in real estate as an asset class and apprises the participants with the popular approaches to real estate asset valuation. Participants will be exposed to the concepts, principles, analytical methods and tools useful for making investment decisions regarding real estate assets.

This course does a deep dive into multiple options to invest and participate in Real Estate in international markets. Assess Real Estate investment opportunities vs other investment avenues, exploring various Real Estate investment tools & strategies. In Phase II course will focus on real estate valuation by understanding popular valuation methodologies, with special focus on capitalization method with bias towards economic downturn situation.

Mr William Chan MRICS

MHKIS, MAAPM, RPS, MBA, DipProjMan(RICS), PgD, Prof Dip, BSc

Mr Chan has over 25 years of real estate experience in development, investment, acquisition, land administration and valuation. He has worked for property developers, the Hong Kong Government and consultancy firms. When working in property developers, Mr Chan was mainly responsible for international property market, and handling both property development sites and investment properties. The investment property portfolio concerned comprised mainly commercial and office developments. He is particularly familiar with Hong Kong and Macao markets, and has extensive experience in valuation of various types of properties under different market situations. He also has over 10 years of experience in delivering professional training at various educational and professional institutions in Hong Kong and Macao.

Mr Chan has been awarded Master Degree in Business Administration, Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Project Management and Bachelor Degree in Land Management by various UK and Hong Kong universities.

In addition, he has been acting as Chairman or Assessors of APC panels of RICS and HKIS.

  • Upon completion of this event, a CPD certificate will be granted. A payment receipt along with the CPD certificate will be sent to you by email with 10 business days after the training.
