Food is at the heart of health, culture, and sustainability — yet too often, good food and nutrition feel like a privilege rather than a right. Policymakers point to frameworks like the EAT-Lancet’s “planetary diet” - a way of eating that’s good for both people and the planet.
But what does that actually look like in reality?
Access to nutritious meals remains uneven, and conversations about sustainable eating are clouded by misconceptions.
Plant-based diets are still seen by many as expensive, lacking in protein, or simply unrealistic. These myths don’t just affect individual choices, they influence how whole communities think about food.
This October, we’re cutting through the noise. Our online Members Monthly Meetup will explore what it truly means to feed people well sustainably: making nutritious, plant-forward meals affordable, inclusive, and enjoyable — without judgement, without elitism, and without breaking the bank.
🎤 Guest Speaker: Divya Butani – The Veggie Wifey
Divya is on a mission to show that eating well doesn’t have to be complicated, costly, or exclusive. Through her platform The Veggie Wifey, she has built a community of over 150,000 people by busting myths, sharing approachable recipes, and teaching cooking classes that prove nutritious food can be simple, affordable, and delicious for everyone — from athletes to families to schools.
Together with Divya, we’ll explore:
- Myth-busting nutrition — challenging the belief that vegan food is too expensive, bland, or lacking in protein.
- Inclusive approaches — why veganism isn’t “all or nothing,” and why it’s fine if it looks different for everyone.
- Gentle transitions — how small, practical shifts can make plant-based eating more sustainable and realistic in the long run.
Alongside these insights, Divya will share her own journey to a plant-based life, offering authentic and practical reflections on how access to good nutrition can transform not only individual health, but also the way we feed our families, schools, and communities.
