Post-covid Competitiveness and the Challenges of Hong Kong SAR China

The pandemic and its subsequent global crisis has taught us that the competitiveness of nations is now more important than ever. In the midst of a deglobalization process, with trade conflicts and trade wars, and restrictions to the movement of people, national policies are going to play a more fundamental role in the prosperity of people.

In this session, we will discuss what the context for Hong Kong is and the reasons for its drop in the 2020 IMD World Competitiveness Rankings.

We will also offer solutions to the current global issues through the lens of our competitiveness model.

IMD World Competitiveness Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge on world competitiveness by offering benchmarking services for countries and companies using the latest and most relevant data on the subject.

2019 marked the 30th anniversary of the IMD World Competitiveness Center. For the past 30 years, the Center has spearheaded research on how nations and enterprises compete to lay the foundations for future prosperity.
