Join us for an inspiring evening as the graduating Class 8 students of Island Waldorf School present their highly anticipated Independent Projects. On Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 6 to 8p, witness the culmination of their self-directed learning journeys.

In this unique element of their Waldorf education, each student has passionately pursued a topic of their choosing, embracing the challenge of learning a new skill and meticulously documenting their progress. Prepare to be impressed by an exciting array of presentations, with many students demonstrating their newly acquired talents. From the intricacies of dressmaking to the craftsmanship of guitar making, the expressiveness of contemporary dance to the thrill of go-kart racing, and much more, the breadth of their explorations is truly remarkable.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness the intellectual curiosity, dedication, and diverse achievements of these fine young individuals, a testament to the holistic approach of Waldorf education.

The Class 8 Independent Project is designed to empower students to delve deeply into their passions, explore potential career paths, and cultivate essential skills in self-direction and learning coordination. Rooted in the tradition of Waldorf Class 8 projects, this initiative formally recognizes the exceptional quality and depth of the students' work, drawing upon all facets of their educational experience.

Each student will give a 5 to 10-minute presentation on their chosen project topic and share what they have learned throughout the process.

The event is free of charge.

Can I come only for one student's presentation?

Attending only one student’s presentation is NOT recommended, as arriving late or leaving early can be disruptive. The schedule may shift, so exact times aren't guaranteed. All students have worked hard and deserve everyone’s support and appreciation.

Started in September 2017, Island Waldorf School is the first school on Hong Kong island to offer high quality Waldorf education to children aged 1-14, K to 8.

We offer playgroups and kindergarten classes at our kindergarten campus near the Kennedy Town MTR station. Classes 1 to 8 are at our primary and middle school campus, near the HKU MTR station.
