Event overview
Witnessed by President Xi Jinping, the Framework Agreement on Deepening Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation in the Development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) was signed by National Development and Reform Commission, the Hong Kong SAR Government, the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the Macau SAR Government on 1 July 2017. The GBA covers the two SARs of Hong Kong and Macao, as well as nine cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing. Its total population is approximately 70 million, and GBA contributed more than RMB9 trillion to China’s GPD in 2016.
In order to have a better understanding on GBA and its implications to Hong Kong, RICS organise the technical visit to take a look at various key infrastructure and development projects in GBA and obtain the update from the relevant government officials and academics of the Guangdong Province.
