'Our Blue Foundation: Why the Ocean Matters', Talk by Dr. Christelle Not
Overview
Join us for 'Our Blue Foundation: Why the Ocean Matters', a talk by Dr. Christelle Not.
The ocean is the blue heart of our planet. It governs our global climate, absorbs vast amounts of carbon dioxide, and generates half the oxygen we breathe. It is a fundamental life-support system that sustains biodiversity and provides food and livelihoods for billions.
Yet, this heart is under immense stress. We are inundating it with plastic pollution, heating
its waters through climate change, and making it more acidic. These changes are disrupting delicate ecosystems, threatening marine life, and compromising the ocean's ability to regulate the climate.
This talk will explore our profound connection to the sea. The ocean's health is not a separate issue; it is directly tied to our own survival and prosperity.
Protecting it is not just an environmental goal, but an urgent necessity for securing a stable and healthy future.
