Objects of Affection: Celebrating local literature
Event Information
Description
The season of swapping love stories isn’t over just yet. Join two local writers Shannon Young and Mary Jean Chan as they share their objects of affection and explore themes of attraction and commitment, in a special reading hosted alongside Aēsop in their Hollywood Road store.
Shannon Young, an American author living in Hong Kong, will read an excerpt from her brand new romance novel Ferry Tales. This meet-cute story introduces us to Katrina and Sam, whose worlds collide aboard the Star Ferry.
Mary Jean Chan, a Hong-Kong born poet and writer, will talk about the various forms that love can take, by sharing some of her poetry collection and reading an excerpt from The Caravaggio Affair by Álvaro Enrigue.
A wine and tea reception will be held from 6pm to 6:25pm and the reading will begin at 6:30pm at Aēsop on Hollywood Road in Central.
