What Is Supply Chain Online Simulation Learning Experience?

Bringing into practice of theory: the supply chain online simulation system (“stimulator”) used in the workshop makes the learning like doing a realistic business!

Obtaining knowledge: participants of the simulation workshop will gain knowledge on supply chain best practices for designing and managing a modern supply chain.

Team building: participants will practice to collaborate and to take decisions involving the complete supply chain.

Workshop Objectives

In this workshop, participants will have hands-on experience on how Supply Chain Alignment can:

  • Influence positively the organizational performance and KPI such as Return on Investment (ROI);
  • Facilitate team decision-making process.

In particular, you and your team can gain insight into the best practices to increase the Return on Investment (ROI) in consumer goods supply chain with respective to different roles in supply chain: logistics, purchasing, finance, and sales and marketing and finance.

Workshop Outline

AM Session (3 hours)

  • Introduction and learning objectives
  • To identify the core problem(s) in supply chain
  • To demonstrate and explain the parameters in simulator
  • To make the 1st round of strategic and tactical decisions in simulator

PM Session (4 hours)

  • To brief the strategic alignment(s) in supply chain
  • To make the 2nd round of revised strategic and tactical decisions in simulator
  • To brief the best practices (Sales & Operation Planning process) for improving supply chain performance
  • To make the 3rd round of strategic and tactical decisions in simulator
  • De-briefing and conclusion

Mode of Delivery

The workshop will comprise activities of online stimulation, in-class discussion, and lecturing.

Note: Participants are required to bring their own computer notebooks with WiFi connection function (tablets are not preferred to ensure the training experience) to this workshop for accessing the online stimulation system.

Medium of Instruction

Cantonese with English terminology; teaching materials will be primarily in English.
