Money Wise Migrants
An introduction to personal finance, tailor-made for migrant domestic workers. In this workshop set realistic financial goals for the future in a supportive environment. Come away with stronger money management skills, a better understanding of debt management, plans for tracking expenses, and a practical budget plan.
Participants who have completed Money Wise Migrants workshop are required to attend the mentoring session organized by Enrich with volunteer finance professionals. At the mentoring session, participants will receive one-to-one advice and guidance on money-management and other questions linked to personal finance. More: Mentoring at Enrich. Enrich will contact participants about the upcoming mentoring session, after their workshop.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
You can either sign up to a one-off workshop or to our full programme. Those who sign up to the full programme will also benefit from one-to-one financial counselling and mentoring, and will receive a certificate of completion at a graduation ceremony.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
If you are paying for yourself, workshops are highly subsidised at only $20 per workshop or $100 for the full programme. We ask supportive employers to support our work by sponsoring their domestic worker at $400 per workshop or $1500 for the full programme (this covers Enrich’s actual costs of delivering the workshop).
Full programme includes: 27 hours (all 5 workshops) of Financial and Empowerment Education plus a one half-day mentoring session. At the completion of the Full Programme, she will be invited to a graduation ceremony where she will receive a certificate of completion. She will also be able to apply for our long-term Financial Mentoring Programme.
Your helper should begin with Money Wise Migrants or one of our Empowerment Education workshops (Money and Family, or Speak Up). Once she is signed up for her first workshop, we will be in touch with you to schedule the other workshops – please make sure to include your contact details. More info.
Employer sponsorship is a huge motivation for our workshop participants. Please note that sponsoring your helper to attend our workshops covers our actual costs of delivering the training, and as a small charity we are reliant on this support to sustain our programmes. Migrant domestic workers who do not receive sponsorship from their employers can still attend our workshops at a highly subsidised rate of HK$20 per workshop. More info.
If you are sponsoring your helper, please remember to provide us your helper's NAME and CONTACT NUMBER.
We run workshops in different languages throughout the year at training centres across Hong Kong. For the latest schedule visit: here.
