Thu 10 November 2016, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM GMT
In Celebration of Black History Month we have the oppurtunity to screen the much anticipated educational and above all informative HARD STOP (2015)
Hard Stop examines the events that led up to and followed the death of Mark Duggan, whose shooting by police in London in 2011 precipitated widespread rioting in England. The documentary, directed by George Amponsah, takes a look at the history of Broadwater Farm, the Tottenham estate where Duggan grew up.
The film furthermore deals with a plethora of issues relating to the policing of black men, including the powers of stop and search. Heading back to London from Europe to conduct interviews with the filmmakers and some of the protagonists seen in the documentary.
