Event description
Always wanted to know what meditation is about? This introduction will set you on the right path.

About this event

In the busy urban jungle of Hong Kong, the benefits of meditation are numerous.

This class will be a great start to your meditation journey with

* An introduction to meditation (based on the great traditions of Dzogchen and Chan (Zen)) which includes:

> the correct sitting pose: the use of the cushion, the mudra, the eyes

> thoughts about meditation and motivation

> two different meditation techniques

* Two meditation sessions of 15 minutes utilizing the learned techniques

* Sharing and Q&As will be integral parts of the class.

Our small group set-up ensures an intimate setting and a lot of personal attention.

Your teacher will be Bert Bulthuis, the founder of The Art of Calm. He holds a Master degree in Buddhist studies from The University of Hong Kong. Trained in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Zen traditions, he is a seasoned meditator of over ten years who wishes to share what he has learned.

Please wear comfortable clothing; cushions will be provided.

Organizer The Art of Calm HK

Organizer of Midweek Oneness Meditation and instruction

The Art of Calm is a meditation centre in Hong Kong that provides beginner, intermediate and advanced meditators with opportunities to evolve their practice through classes, workshops and courses.

We were founded in response to an increased interest in well-being and finding ways to self-care amid recent unrest in Hong Kong, where we are based, and beyond.

At the core of our business is your happiness and how to get you to a place of balance, acceptance and contentment. We meet your needs, working in a variety of settings ranging from our centre, your home, over Zoom or in nature.

Our flexibility is matched by our people and commitment — whether it be our meditation classes, workshops, courses or special offers, we’ll teach you the basics to strengthen your practice.
