Offers practical & effective advice to assist child development & emotional wellbeing for helpers taking care of children aged 11 to 18

About this event

Our Mental Health Awareness Training Session can offer you support with practical and effective advice to assist child's development and wellbeing. During a child's earliest years, the brain undergoes its most dramatic development, setting the stage for not only physical, but also social and psychological development. So what a child experiences during this time may affect their way of thinking, the way they respond to stress, and their ability to form trusting and healthy relationships.

The session includes understanding what mental health is, how certain factors may affect a child's mental health, coming up with strategies to help your child cope with their stress and strong emotions, understanding the signs and symptoms of anxiety & depression, offering practical advice to support the development and wellbeing of the child you are taking care of, and answering further questions or concerns you may have as a helper.

Children's mental health is everyone's business, and there is no better time than now to learn effective and practical ways to promote their wellbeing, as promoting positive wellbeing of children and young people is fundamental to helping them develop into balanced individuals.
